The College of Chemistry, University of California at Berkeley, has an open
position for a Staff Research Associate providing technical support for the
operation of several magnetic resonance spectrometers, workstations and peripherals.
Duties include routine maintenance, repair and improvement of NMR spectrometer hardware
and software, cryogenic maintenance, measuring routine samples, assists customers with
instrument operation, hardware and software maintenance of workstations and peripherals,
maintenance of instrument supplies, collection of on-line recharge records.
Practical experience is required in operation, performance testing and repair of NMR
Spectrometers, interfacing of computer data acquisition systems, operation of
DOS/Windows, UNIX and Macintosh based systems, basic C programming, calibration
and trouble shooting of digital and analog (including rf) circuits.
