Postdoctoral Training Position
Posting date: April 15, 1996.
Position available: until filled
A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Chemistry
at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. The position will
involve NIH-funded NMR studies and structural refinement of
carcinogen-adducted oligonucleotides. The long term goals are to
correlate adduct-induced structural perturbations of DNA with
specific mutations. The laboratory is equipped with a Bruker
Avance 500 MHz spectrometer, and SGI workstations for data
processing. Candidates should possess some combination of
experience in NMR structural studies of oligonucleotides,
biophysical chemistry of nucleic acids, or computational methods in
solution structural refinement of biological macromolecules.
Experience with NMR structural studies of protein/DNA interactions
would be particularly desirable. Nashville, with a metro population
of approx. 1M, is a progressive city located near the center of
Tennessee, with excellent climate, and an abundance of cultural and
recreational activities available nearby. The Great Smoky Mtns are
located approx 4 hours east of the city. Please send cv, and 3 letters
of reference, to Dr. Michael P. Stone, Department of Chemistry,
Vanderbilt University, PO. Box 1822B, Nashville, TN, 37235, or
email to mpstone@nmr2.cas.vanderbilt.edu.
