Dear BUMers:

a few weeks ago I announced the WWW article "NMR meets MUSICIANS" which
deals with the auditory presentation of NMR FIDs. More than two hundred
people have meanwhile looked up this page, and I received many positive
and stimulating comments. Thanks to all who responded!

A major bottleneck when reading the article is the download of the
soundfiles. These are inherently quite large, and I'm sorry that I
can't make them shorter. Data transfer between Germany and other sites
(especially the US) is notoriously slow, and many a guest may have
quit downloading due to the very low speed.

I have now setup an US mirror site of the article which may help
speed up listening to the sound examples and NMR melodies. The server
is physically located at the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia
(thanks to Paul Schleyer!).

The two relevant web addresses are now:

Germany (unchanged):

http://www.organik.uni-erlangen.de/research/NMR/music.html

US (new):

http://paul.chem.uga.edu/www.wbauer/music.html

In case of problems with the new server I would very much appreciate
your notifying me.

Have fun with the sounds and best regards to all,

Waldi Bauer
