FACULTY POSITION - BIOMEDICAL PHYSICIST -- The Department of Physics at
Oakland University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant
professor position in Biomedical physics. Exceptional candidates will be
considered for appointment at the Associate professor level. A Ph.D. in
physics or a closely related field, a demonstrated ability for effective
teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and excellence in
research are required. Postdoctoral, faculty or industrial experience with
a record of external funding for research is desirable. While our
preference is for a theoretical/computational physicist in biomedical
physics, we encourage applications from both theorists and
experimentalists. The department of physics, in cooperation with regional
medical centers, offers a Ph.D. program in Biomedical Science-Medical
Physics, with strong research emphases in NMR microscopy, medical MRI, in
vivo NMR spectroscopy, cell and molecular biology of neural injury,
biomagentism, biomechanics, and photodynamic therapy. Applicants should
submit a curriculum vitae, a publication list, a brief description of
research interests and goals, and arrange for at least three letters of
recommendation to be sent to: Prof. Uma Venkateswaran, Biomedical Physics
Search Committee, Department of Physics, Oakland University, Rochester, MI
48309 before February 10, 1997. http://www.acs.oakland.edu OAKLAND
UNIVERSITY IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION EMPLOYER. WOMEN AND
