Sorry to take so long to post this summary, but.......

My question concerned how labs did billing and usage statistics on
Aspect-3000s.

Summary of answers:

1) Several people wrote that they did it the old-fashioned way:
logbooks either paper or electronic. At the end of the month the
manager would add up times and numbers, etc.

2) Use the reservations/sign-up sheets

2a) Use computer reservations.

2c) Steve Philson's progam was mentioned (admin@nmr.chem.umn.edu)

3) Use modified Bruker automation software

4) Use a PC and either user accounts/passwrds or cards (magnetic or barcode)
The PC trips a relay to turn on the Aspect keyboard and/or monitor and/or
transmitter. There are a variety of these, mostly homegrown. Some of
the homegrown versions might be available to others. There were three
"commercial" versions. However, my attemps to contact the providers
were less than successful. One person is no longer providing the
program, and one email did not reply.

Labcharger by Unkel software answered the phone and promised to fax
information- but have not done so (617)861-0181

If anyone wants more details on the responses, please let me know.
