Wei--

For both of our Bruker systems, the ec0 connection is to the network, the
other to the Bruker systems. Things are working fine.
You might want to check your network connections and other files. Try
"ifconfig -a", look for ip addresses and netmask. Look at the files
resolv.conf, static-route.options, and ifconfig-1.options. Also, recheck
your "chkconfig gated off".

Good luck.

Subject: IRIX 6.5 ec0/ec1 problem

Hi again,

After I have sent the last email, our computer person told me that when he
disabled all the Bruker related process such as gated etc., ec0 connection
to the network would work fine. So the problem now is with ec1 connection
to network (ec0 connection to spect is always fine even when ec1 crashes).

My last email to all:

Hi all,

We have just installed IRIX 6.5.7 and NMRSuite 2.6/patch level 5 on our
SGI-O2 of ARX250 NMR. We have problem with ethernet connection. The
connection stops when we try to transfer data or read data remotely from
tape drive. Bruker says with IRIX 6.5 and SGI-O2, ec0 should be connected
to CCU and ec1 to internet. We have set it up this way but ec1 network
connection crashed constantly. So we set ec0 back to the network just to
get some old backups read back from tape, that crashed too. We have not
tried to get NMR to work because some old data has yet to be restored from
tape which we can't do due to the crashes. We are thinking about
installing IRIX 6.5.11, but do not know if it will fix the problem. Any
experience and suggestions/solutions are welcome.

Wei
