I agree with Stefan. You really need to know that there is liquid
nitrogen in the magnet dewar. The easiest, most visual way of knowing this
is to have icing around the nitrogen gas exit ports. Unfortunately this also
means that water droplets will be present as well. One suggestion that I
recently heard was to use some cheap sponge rubber pads with a hole cut to fit over the exit port.
The water drops are absorbed and have time to evaporate before running down
the side of the magnet. I haven't got around to trying this yet but it sounds
like a good idea.
