Dirty Probe, Ring flipping.

We just had possibly disaster in our 300MHz AC system - a tube of toluene
+ some inorganic junk (toluene and Methylene chloride soluble) blow its
cap in the probe. Due to the late hour, we haven't tested the probe for
contamination but will in the morning. I guess I'll be on the phone with
bruker tomorrow as well.

Questions:

1. What experience do you'all have with spills in the probe? Unless we
have a shy student, nothing else has been spilled in this NMR.

2. Can we clean it without taking the probe apart? If so, how, and how
safe is it.

3. Does anyone know of an inorganic molecule with an inversion rate that
goes from slower than nmr time scale (2 peaks) to faster than nmr time
scale (1 peak) in a reasonable temperature range? Can it be synthesized
in a teaching lab?

Well, I'm off to drown my sorrows for the next 8 hours....
