Mail to BUM
============
Last weekend I installed a new mail program (sendmail8.6.4) to get
improved error handling and error info.
With the change, I also re-configured the aliases used for requests.
The /pub/nmr/README file has been updated to reflect the new setup.
For the time being, the 'sendme' program is inactive; it needs too many
changes. Please let me know if it should be re-instated.

Additions/Deletions:
====================

Send requests for addition/deletions to the list to:
bruker-users-request@bloch.cchem.berkeley.edu.
Mention SUBSCRIBE Bruker User Mail.
(To be removed, mention DROP or REMOVE.)

PLEASE LET ME (rnunlist@bloch.cchem.berkeley.edu) KNOW IF YOUR E-MAIL
ADDRESS CHANGES!

Mail Bounces:
==============

On occasion sites experience mail problems which will cause much or all
incoming mail to bounce. If this continues, your name will be deactivated
from the list. With over 220 subscribers, it is not possible for me to debug
problems at recipients' sites.
I you think you may have been deactivated, send mail to the -request alias.
I generally keep the deactivated entries for a month or so.

Mail test:
==========
If you suspect a problem with the bruker mail, please do NOT post to the
list, use the following method instead:

mail "you%yoursite.your.domain@bloch.cchem.berkeley.edu"
e.g. mail nmrjock%1000MHz.nmrlab.timbuktu.edu@bloch.cchem.berkeley.edu

This should force route it here and then back to you.

Mail archive:
=============
Mail archives start with July 93. The mail files are in
/pub/archive/bruker/<yr>/<monthyr.Z>, e.g., /pub/archive/bruker/93/july93.Z
The files are compressd, so use binanry FTP.
Mail files are archived at the end of the months.
