400-WB Magnet Drift

Dear Bruker Users:

I am interested in learning how your high-field magnet experience
compares with ours, with regard to field drift.

We have an Oxford 400-WB which was installed with our AMX
spectrometer in mid-1991. If you do a drift test, it usually meets
specs (on the high side). However, the magnet eventually drifts down
to a point where we can no longer obtain deuterium lock. Then we
have to get a power supply and "boost" the main field. It appears
that we have to do a boost about once every 10 to 12 months.

Any comments you might have will be appreciated.

Bill
