I expect to have a post-doc position available in the area of NMR studies
of fluids in rocks and porous media. The objective of the work is to study
fluid flow properties (e.g., premeability) of fluids in rocks using NMR
spectroscopy. This is an on-going project. NMR experiments we have used
in past work include relaxation measurements, pulsed field gradient
measurements, and imaging and include measurements of fluids under
stationary as well as in-situ flow conditions. This research is motivated
by immediate applications in petroleum and gas exploration. Lab equipment
available includes a Bruker MSL 300 with micro-imaging and Doty PFG probe
and 2 MHz spectrometer from Resonance Instruments (a small start-up formed
by some former Oxford people). The position would be at the Exxon
Corporate Research lab located in central New Jersey. Please contact me
