Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Research & Development, a world leader in pharmaceutical
research, has an opportunity available in the Medicinal Chemistry Department
of our Collegeville, Pennsylvania World Headquarters.
The candidate will be responsible for heading the NMR facility consisting of a
Varian 500 MHz. UnityPlus, 200 MHz. VXR-200S, Bruker 300 MHz. ACF, and 300
MHz. ARX instruments. To qualify, you should have a Ph.D. in chemistry with
at least 2-3 years experience in NMR structural analysis of synthetic
pharmaceutical compounds and degradation products commonly encountered in
support of Medicinal and Process Chemistry. Candidate must have experience
with and in-depth knowledge of high field NMR hardware and software and be
proficient in the application of advanced pulse sequences for structure
elucidation. Close interactions with the CADD group will be part of the
candidate's functions; prior experience with such a group is desirable.
Collaborative interactions with a diverse group of scientists in Pharmaceutics
Discovery and Development Divisions are expected. A strong organic chemistry
background is required.
