Ecoupler problems

Dear BUMers:
We are having a problem with the (proton-only) ecoupler on our
AMX-400. Here at UCD we do a great deal of work on
paramagnetics using very fast recycle times. We have found that
with recycle times of less than 50 msec the ecoupler power
output is not stable and diminishes over time. Typically the
power will decrease about 15% during the course of a few hours,
which plays havoc with our data. We have tried replacing the
ecoupler twice already and have found this problem seems to be
endemic to this model ecoupler. Thinking it could be a heating
problem we mounted the ecoupler outside the console with a
battery of fans to cool it, but this has not fixed the problem. If
anyone has had similar experiences or has any suggestions,
please contact me. I will post a summary.
