There has been some discussion about file transfers over networks and getting
one software application to accept various Bruker file formats but I don't
recall anyone describing an application for either a Mac or IBM/compatible to
read a file directly from an ADAKOS formatted (actually ADAKET formatted) 3.5"
diskette.
Is there something unique about the mechanism of a 3.5" disk drive attached to
an ASPECT 3000 that prevents other drives (e.g. Mac super drives) from reading
the data? I have been researching various programs for off line processing of
FIDs (1D mostly) and it seems they require the files to have been transferred to
the other computer either over a network (expensive) or via KERMIT (slow). It
seems to me that a low cost alternative would be a conversion program to read
Bruker floppies directly, sort of like Apple File Exchange did earlier and PC
Exchange does now for Mac <---> PC(DOS) and Mac <---> Apple II(ProDOS).
Thanks,
