It seems to me that this was done some time ago with a product called
Uxnmr/p with Beat Meier of Spectrospin leading the effort. I believe
that the Xedplot module was ported from Uxnmr/P to Uxnmr and later to
Xwinnmr. My understanding was that Uxnmr/P was the portable Unix version
of WinNMR which ran on the PC platform.

Personally, I would be all for WinNMR running native an SGI but I'm sure
that there are some politics involved (as was the case with killing
Uxnmr/P) in doing something like this?
