NMR room security/safety

We are just moving back into a newly renovated building and we're haveing
problems with people wandering into our NMR room. We have signs up on the
door and in the room warning of the magnetic fields, but people seem to
just walk by them. We do try to keep the door locked when we aren't there
but it seems like every time we forget we return to find three guys with
ladders poking around in the ceiling next to the instrument. (The odd thing
is that we only have one of the two instruments destined for that room
installed so far and these people **never** seem to be interested in
anything in the other part of the room, away from the magnet!)

How do you handle access to the rooms that house your magnets, particularly
for people that need to get in to maintain the air conditioning system,
calibrate the low oxygen sensors, etc.? Do you have any way other than the
signs to alert emergency responders (Fire Department, plant services,
etc.) that there is a non-obvious hazard in the room?

Thanks,
Chris
