SCSI Drive on ASPECT3000 of MSL-300

Dear Bruker Users,

We had installed a SCSI cum Memory board on our MSL-300 four
years ago. Bruker supplied this board and a 1 GB SCSI drive
and we we were using this drive all these years. When this
drive got full, we tried to reinitialise the disk and store
ADAKOS.SCSI. We were never able to do this, as we later
realised that this disk now has bad sectors. (Bruker suggested
us to format this disk first on a PC with SCSI controller, using
a low level format). This disk could be formatted on a PC and
could be used on a PC, we could store DOS files etc. But when
we moved the SCSI drive to ASPECT3000 and load ADAKOS.SCSI,
it gave "media flaq" error. So the drive looks to be usable,
yet we can not get run the ADAKOS.SCSI and prepare this disk
for use with ASPECT3000.

Did anyone have similar problem while working with such a drive
on a MSL-300 or any other Bruker spectrometer.

We are now trying to get a new SCSI drive from the PC marker and
use it with the ASPECT3000. ADAKOS.SCSI program does not provide
any formating facility. SO we have to format the disk outside first.
Any tips you can give in this regard will help us a lot.

Thanks much

Ganapathy
