Uxnmr

One of the problems that we are having on our AMX 300 using uxnmr
941001.5 is that occasionally the graphics processor locks up. The manual
indicates that it can be restarted with 'ctrl-\', answer 'no', restart
uxnmr using 'uxnmr -r' which requires the root password. With 30 people
using the spectrometer here this happens irritatingly frequently. This
means that when the machine locks up I have to be present to restart it!
Is there a way to let any user restart without my having to be present?
Does the program 'sudo' work on the X32 computer?
