Phase image artefacts

Dear Colleagues,
You might be interested to hear that I've found the reason for the phase
variations I've been seeing. I have been using image reconstruction using
the Bruker automatic phase correction and it turns out that for each image
the algorithm calculates different values of the phase correction. These
do not have any effect if a magnitude image is calulated but small changes
(as I found out by using manual phase correction) have a dramatic effect.
I was able to eliminate the problem by using fixed values of phase
correction for each image and obtained very satisfactory velocity images by
subtracting a reference image taken with the flow turned off. Needless to
say I feel very foolish for not thinking of this earlier.
Regards,
Lachlan Graham
