XWINNMR on PC with NT

Hello Bummers,

A while back I posed the question about the
use of XWINNMR on a PC running windows
NT 4.0. I was figuring this to be an
inexpensive alternative to buying a new SGI
O2 workstation, and at the same time which
to a more familiar operating system. As it
turns out there are very many of you who
are wondering the same thing!, and asked
that I respond with the results of my search.

Unfortunately there has been very little
switching over done at this point, so I am
sorry to say that I don't really have anything
to report. Interest appears to be very high
which I expected.

The couple of responses that I did get
seemed to indicate that the program does
very well, but would suggest getting a very
souped up computer with lots of memory.

Well, I have decided to go ahead and try it,
bought a 450MHz pentium II 16Gb harddrive,
and 256Mb SDRAM, Graphics card with
32Mb SDRAM. So we will see, I'll let you
know in a few weeks how things are going.

Sincerely,
