Dear All,

Has anyone succeeded in getting a HP LaserJet 1100 printer working with
a Silicon Graphics O2 computer?

This printer is the current basic laser printer from HP, in replacement for
the 6L, but has the new IEEE 1284 interface with a small Centronics C MDR36
connector. The is the same connector as on the O2 parallel port.

The printer is supplied with a PC cable, and will print from a PC OK. I
have a suitable cable to connect to an O2 but it will not work. This
morning I tried connecting the printer to an Indy via the PC cable, and this
did not work either. I have tried installing the printer as a generic text
printer on the SG computers, which happily outputs to older laserjets, but
not the 1100. I have even had success via the IEEE 1284 interface on an old
LaserJet 5MP, but not on the 1100!

Has anyone got this hardware combination of O2 and LaserJet 1100 to work?

Regards,

Phil.
