B0 gradient during acqisition

Hello,
I am a new member of the list. My name is Jihui Wu, a teacher at
School of life science, Univ. of Science & Technology of China. We have
a Bruker avance DMX-500 NMR machine with shielded z-gradient accessory.
Now I have a question about pulse programming using gradient field. How
to add B0 gradient during acqisition ? Does the hardware need
modification ? I am not familar with hardwares. Some papers in journals
described some similar experiments, but gave no details about their
programming.
