DESCRIPTION:
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in an exciting and
expanding research group to study the effects of novel chemotherapeutic and
differentiating agents in in vitro and in vivo cancer model systems using
NMR spectroscopy. Our current focus is on proton and carbon-13
spectroscopy, both with and without spatial localization. The primary
responsibility of the post-doctoral fellow will be to evaluate new pulse
sequences and to perform experiments in culture and in animals. The work
will be conducted on two state of the art MRI/S systems from
Varian (4.7 T, 50 cm and 9.4 T, 8.9 cm). Women and Minorities are encouraged

QUALIFICATIONS:
Eligibility for appointment as a postdoctoral fellow/researcher requires an
M.D. or PhD in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or engineering is required. It
is the responsibility of the applicant to certify that he/she has
received his/her
degree or has fulfilled the advanced degree requirements before the
appointment is processed. Experience with NMR spectroscopy or imaging is also
required. Experience with in vitro tissue culture and small animal handling is
desirable. The position is available initially for one year, with an
extension for a
second year possible. Renumeration will be at NIH rates and commensurate
with experience.
