Dear Bruker Users,
Thanks to all who responded to my problem concerning slow performance of
certain functions after NMRSuite2.6 and 3.0 upgrade from 1.3.
My problem is caused by the slow computer speed and not enough RAM.
According to most of your suggestions, I should get rid of the Indy and get
an O2 with at least 256 MB RAM, or switch to Linux version of XWINNMR
running on a 1000 MHz PC when released (too late for us now after spending
a lot on the software upgrades, but may help others who are thinking of
upgrading in the future) .
Indy could be OK if it has at least 256 MB RAM running XWINNMR2.6 or lower,
and the performance will slow down if there are NFS mounting disks. One
user though had several Indys with 64-96 MB RAM running IRIX6.5/XWINNMR2.6
and has no problem.

My email to you yesterday:
Dear Bruker Users,
Just wonder if any of you have seen the same problems as we had with
XWINNMR2.6 and 3.0.
We have recently installed NMRSuite 2.6 on our SGI-O2 (IRIX6.5,180 MHz, 64
MB), and NMRSuite3.0 on our SGI-Indy (IRIX6.5, 133 MHz, 128 MB). Before
the upgrade, we were running XWINNMR1.3 and have no such problems.
Problems we had noticed so far are:
1. On both O2 and Indy, when applying phase correction with PH0 and PH1
button the phase change with respect to mouse movement is not smooth
(jumpy). It is worse on the Indy (hard to tolerate!).
2. On the Indy, when doing spectra expansion mouse cursor movement is very
slow after left click and between the two middle clicks (hard to tolerate
too!).
3. The "browse" command takes forever (more than a minute) to bring up the
pop-up window. However, "browse 3" command works fine and so is the
"search" function.

Wei
