Bruker BioSpin Limited has an immediate opening in Coventry, UK for an
NMR Applications Scientist
Key responsibilities will be to further our unrivalled reputation for customer training and support, and to help promote sales through high-standard instrument demonstrations and technical arguments.
We are looking for a suitably qualified scientist with:
* a BSc or PhD level qualification or equivalent in an appropriate science discipline
* a good understanding of the principles of NMR spectroscopy, and of NMR hardware and software, together with knowledge of modern NMR techniques and applications to chemical analysis
* practical experience of operating modern Bruker NMR equipment for high-resolution spectroscopy
* a good working knowledge of MS-Office for document generation and presentations
* self-motivation and the ability to work as part of a team towards a shared goal, yet to perform individual tasks without the need for constant supervision
* willingness to travel and to work away from home, throughout the UK, Ireland and occasionally in mainland Europe.
Job duties include:
* providing support for existing customers, including training of new users, at customers' sites and also at formal training courses in Coventry
* customer support by telephone and email
* demonstrations of NMR equipment to a highly professional standard, usually at our well-equipped Coventry demonstration laboratory, and assisting in the upkeep of in-house instrumentation
* working with our specialist NMR sales team in sales related activities, by providing technical information to prospective customers via telephone or email, or by accompanying sales specialists on sales visits
* occasional support for local marketing activities by a technical involvement in promotional opportunities
* scientific support of our Service Engineering Team by appropriate specialist scientific input.
