(Linux version) In each users' home directory is a file autostart.prop
  Put the commands in that.

On my system, the path is

  [karenann@500 prop]$ pwd
  /home/karenann/.topspin-500/prop

the contents are:
  [karenann@500 prop]$ more autostart.prop
  #/home/karenann/.topspin-500/prop/autostart.prop
  #Thu Jul 14 12:37:17 MDT 2005
  cmd_lock_start=lockdisp
  cmd_read_shim=rsh standard.shim
  _VERSION=1.0

This starts the lock display window and reads in a standard shim file
when the user starts topspin. Since the file is in the user's home
directory, it could be customized.
