participate in the teaching responsibilities of the Department of
Chemistry, with a nominal 25 % teaching load.

The research project for this position is in basic studies of brain
metabolism and brain metabolic illnesses. The research is done in close
cooperation with a research group led by senior scientist Bjørnar
Hassel, MD, PhD at the section for Neurology at the National Hospital in
Oslo. Part of the work involves handling of research animals. If none
of the applicants are qualified in biomolecular and biological
nmr-spectroscopy an applicant qualified in synthetic organic chemistry
may be hired. Applicants who wishes to be judged in this category must
specify this and also contact one or more of the following scientist to
be given a PhD. research project, professor Tore Benneche
(tore.benneche@kjemi.uio.no http://folk.uio.no/toreben), professor
