Hi all again,

Here I provide more information regarding the SGI network interface recognization problem in my previous email. The SGI O2 prompts only one interface ec0 at the boot time. I get the same result using command ifconfig -a after boot. The following are the details of my current configuratuion,

/etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 local host
149.236.99.1 ASP_ST2
149.236.99.99 spect
202.127.145.239 AVANCE400

/etc/sys_id
AVANCE400

/etc/config/netif.options
if1name=ec0
if1addr=ASP_ST2
if2name=ec1
if2addr=$HOSTNAME

FYI, I attached my previous email at the bottom of this email.

Thank you again for any help!

Hi all,

Two network interface cards are normally seen on the SGI O2 of our DRX400,
namely ec0 and ec1. Now the card ec1 is lost;when booting only ec0 is
seen . The ec1 is used as laboratory networking and it is the second
interface card connecting with SGI through the PCI slot.

I have another SGI O2, and it shows its two cards ec0 and ec1 correctly.
When I replaced its system hard drive with the "bad" one, it showed ec0
only and ec1 also missing. So I concluded that my problem is related with
the wrong configuration of the network. However, I could not find what is
wrong with the configuration. Any good ideas to solve my problem?
