C&CB is seeking an Assistant Professor (Contractually Limited) in Radiochemistry and/or Radiopharmaceutical Science
McMaster University, a world-leader in medical isotope and radiopharmaceutical research, invites applicants for a new faculty position in the general area of radiochemistry and radiopharmaceutical sciences in the Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology. This is a three-year contractually limited faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.
The position will oversee an established radiopharmaceutical research program, which includes outstanding staff and infrastructure notably a dedicated high-level radiation research facility, cyclotron, nuclear reactor, and modern radiopharmaceutical research laboratories. The position is also designed to establish new avenues of independent medical isotope and radiopharmaceutical research.
To apply, candidates must have completed a Ph.D. and at least one post-doctoral fellowship at a leading institution in an area of radiopharmaceutical sciences. This an ideal position for someone who is looking for a leadership role, a quick start to an academic career and who has the desire to help grow a comprehensive program spanning fundamental research and translation.
Applicants must have a strong publication record in leading journals, have a track record of writing manuscripts and be excellent communicators with first-rate presentation skills. Experience in writing grants and training in a multidisciplinary research environment are regarded as valuable experiences. Involvement in mentoring graduate students and/or teaching and aspirations to build a leading program that spans discovery through to translation and application of new radiopharmaceuticals are highly desirable. This faculty position will involve supervising graduate students, applying for grants and contributing to the broader university’s mission to be a world leader in teaching and research.
