Time: 11:30am-12:20pm
Room: ABB 136
Abstract:
Dr. Erica Forsberg, Vice President of Metabolomics at Bruker Scientific, will present a seminar on her career trajectory and the latest technological advancements in metabolomics. Dr. Forsberg earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from McMaster University in 2015, specializing in mass spectrometry assay development prior to her postdoctoral research experience in metabolomics at the Scripps Institute with Gary Siuzdak’s group (2015-2017) and an assistant professor at San Diego State University (2017-2021) . Her academic foundation laid the groundwork for her transition to industry, where she now leads innovative research at Bruker.
Bruker, a global leader in scientific instrumentation, has revolutionized the field of metabolomics with its cutting-edge timsTOF technology. The timsTOF, equipped with Trapped Ion Mobility Spectrometry (TIMS) and Parallel Accumulation Serial Fragmentation (PASEF®), offers unparalleled sensitivity and speed for 4D-Multiomics applications. This technology enables comprehensive analysis of complex biological samples, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in metabolomics research.
