These awards are named in memory of Greg Bahun, who was a familiar and much-loved member of the CCB community from his undergraduate days onward. Greg was the first student to join the Adronov research group and later served as an Instructional Assistant for our large second-year organic chemistry courses and as the department’s Teaching Assistant Coordinator.
Greg was known for his humour, warmth, and approachable manner. He mentored and encouraged countless undergraduate and graduate students, and these awards honour his legacy by recognizing graduate teaching assistants who demonstrate that same commitment to their students and our community.
This year, we enhanced the awards program to provide broader recognition of excellence in graduate teaching. Following an open call for nominations, a selection committee reviewed each nomination using criteria that included teaching excellence and creativity, impact on the course, professionalism, leadership, student-centred teaching, and a commitment to inclusive learning.
Congratulations to our award winners (left-right above)
Congratulations to each of you, and thank you for the dedication, care, and enthusiasm you bring to your teaching and to our CCB community.
