Dr. Yang Chen, founder

Daniel (Yang) Chen has been developing functional silanes and silicones for use in controlling interfaces, polymer functionality and properties. He is an innovative synthetic chemist specializing in development of silicone based material synthesis and surface properties to improve the performance of medical devices and biocompatibility of silicone based biomaterials. He has filed 7 patents and patent-pending applications and published 34 scientific papers.

 

Prof. Michael Brook, founder

Mike Brook is a  Emeritus Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is an expert in silicon, silica and silicone chemistry. He wrote the solely authored book Silicon in Organic, Organometallic and Polymer Chemistry (Wiley), 2000. His main interests revolve around the development of silicone polymers with controlled properties, including biocompatibility, controlled interfacial response, and triggered (bio)degradability.
