The Seventh Annual RISE Workshop was held on August 23-24, 2002, at the St. George campus of the University of Toronto. The Workshop began on Friday evening with the traditional wine and cheese reception, allowing the 2002 RISE Scholars, faculty participants, and industry representativesi to meet and get acquainted with one another. The Workshop began in earnest at 9 a.m. the next morning, with presentations from the fifteen 2002 RISE Scholars on the research they carried out during the summer. The day ended with dinner at the Bright Pearl Restaurant, one of the City of Toronto's many great Chinese restaurants.
The 2002 RISE Group owes special thanks to the Department of Chemistry and the Faculty of Science at the University of Toronto for hosting the meeting and providing support for the workshop, and to Saint Jean Photochemicals for providing T-shirts to commemorate the event.
