Aspect 3000 problems

We are currently trying to figure out what is wrong with our Aspect
3000. The problem, briefly, is that when we issue the 'ZG' command the
hardware pulse sequence begins and then stops dead. The status display at
the top of the graphics display screen initializes to show the number of
dummy scans and number of scans but nothing elses happens. It is as
though the program is waiting for something to happen before starting the
actual pulse sequence.
We have done memory tests and hard disk tests (MOSTEST and TWINEX) and
see nothing wrong there. I had thought that reloading the ADAKOS
operating system would be something to try but it seems that our floppy
drive is not functioning!
Has anyone encountered this type of problem or something similar?
