On a related front I would like to switch a HP7550A plotter from an X32 (RS232
cable HZ0037) to a Personal Iris 4D/35 and then make it generally available
to a cluster of workstations. Does anyone know which cable I would need and how
to setup the plotter. Especially of interest is the configuration commands from
unix and not uxnmr as this uxnmr is not available on this machine. I have set
up the plotter with the normal generic serial plotter and this seems ok but
does not produce any plots. The problem may just be the configuration of the
plotter and R232 cable.

The information in a previous post from Jane Strouse does not seem the same for
my plotter as it does not seem possible to setup the remote/standalone etc
configuration on this plotter for the serial port. All other configuration
paramters can be set as in her suggestions. The plotter does have only one
parallel and one serial connector. The definition of the plotter is given
below.

HEWLETT-PACKARD
7550A, 34 4

Any help would be appreciated.

Dave
