Flaky preamp housing

Dear BUMlanders,

Numare's AC-200 NMR system was installed by Bruker engineers in the summer of
1994. The system is 1983 vintage with Aspect 3000 computer, array processor,
and process controller. It works fine with one notable expection: The
preamp housing relays do not work. A second preamp housing sent as a
replacement has the same problem.

Bruker engineers were unable to solve the problem. My solution has been to
manually connect the high power decoupler to the 1H probe coil input every
time that proton decoupling is required. This works ok for hetero
decoupling. Homo decoupling is another matter. Instead of DP ca. 20L for
routine homo decoupling, need DP 0L due to severe attenuation of rf as it
passes through the preamp housing. Can't bypass the problem in this case.

Question: Has anyone had the same problem? Did you work out a solution?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and best regards,

Lawrence
