Dear Dr. Maemets,
We are well known that 8 inch FDD of NEC do not work properly more than 1-2
years. Both our AC200 were equipped with this devices, but now we use 3 1/2 inch
FDD from PC istalled into every of our four spectrometers with A2000/3000 as
single (AC200) or second device (=F1 or =F2 depending on switch position, AM300,
WM250).
You can contact with our engineer Tarabakin Sergei (star@ioc.ac.ru) and ask
him technical details. The image with Adakos-89 for this floppy disk we can send
you via e-mail.
With our new system it is also possible to boot A3000 directly from PC without
any floppy. Recently hard disk at AM300 spectrometer was destroyed after 18 years
of working and we use only PC-disk for Aspect.
Please, consider abilities to visit our laboratory to see Aspect<-->PC
interface board, 3 inch floppy drive and software (DOS or Linux,
