AU compilation problem solved

Dear all,

Thanks to all who responded to my question about AU compilation. Most of
you pointed out that we are missing C library header files which were not
installed during our installation of IRIX. After we installed them, AU
compilation went fine. In case anyone who has the same problem, please
read the kind email from Dr. Clements Anklin. Our user made AU programs
were not compiled well, some arguments such as "getfloat" and "storepar"
which worked for IRIX 6.3/xwinnmr1.3 do not work now with
IRIX6.5.11/xwinnmr2.6. Changing these arguments to capital letters seems
to help, at least for a couple of the user defined AUs.

I have an additional question. I might have overlooked, but I don't know
where to find a list of Bruker AU programms which tells what fuction each
AU command has. In the old UXNMR User's Guide Version 901001, appendix A
gave such a handy list. Have any one seen such a list fo current
NMRSuite2.6 or 3.0?

Best regards,

Wei

Message from Dr. Clements Anklin:

this is not a problem with XWINNMR but with IRIX. Check with the
versions command if the C Library Headers are installed.
The error message seems to indicate, that they are not.

In order to add them you need to install them from the IRIX Developers
Option CD. When you do this you need to have all your 6.5 CD's ready
since you need to load some of the other CD's .

The procedure is approximately as follows:

Put in the first overlay CD from 6.5.11 and open the software manager.
With this, you basically "read" its contents list. Do this also for the
second overlay
list with "open additional distribution. Now insert the CD from which
you want to install a package (in this case developers option).
Now you can choose the C Library headers for installation. The system
will later prompt you when it needs further CD's for the installation of
the desired package. If you do not read the overlays first you will get
"conflicts".

Regards

Clemens
