The SMD interface in the Aspect 3000 supports several drives. The
supported drives are:

CDC 96Mbyte
CDC 64Mbyte
CDC 32Mbyte
MMD 80Mbyte
MMD 24Mbyte
BASF 24Mbyte (Winchester type)
NEC 160Mbyte (Winchecter Type)

If your interface has a rotary switch at the top of the board you can also
support a Hitachi DK512-17S (172Mbyte), with the installation of some
proms (2/?). Otherwise you have dip switches and the NEC 160Mbyte is the
largest you can support. I know of a local (Wakefield, Ma.) person that
supplies some of these drives.

Bruker also supplies a SCSI interface package that includes a 1Gbyte hard
drive, operating system and SCSI interface with 1M of memory. This board
replaces you existing memory board and can be used in conjunction with
your existing SMD interface.
