Homospoil pulse on AM/AC/AF spectrometers

Rolf Tschudin's message about the lock interrupt reminded me of a
very simple modification I have made to the BSN-18 which has made
what was an unusable homospoil pulse, usable. This modification
was simply to replace the 1 microfarad capacitor on the output of the
analog switch which gates the homospoil into the z shim on the low
current shim amplifier board with a 0.1 microfarad capacitor. This
has reduced the recovery time from a reasonable homospoil pulse on the
spectrometers to which the modification has been made (1-ac200, 2-af300's, and
1-am500) from about 200 msec to about 20 msec. I have seen no ill effects
from this modification. If anyone out there has found that a similar
modification was useful, I would be interested in hearing about it. If
anyone has an unusable homospoil pulse due to a long recovery time, they
might try this simple modification to see if it has any effect.
