What you are thinking of doing is not trivial. The Z17c is controled by
the I/O bus of the Aspect 2000. This is not a standard bus which is
available for a PC compatible, nor would it be easy to build an interface
for this bus.

What I recommend doing is to purchase an off the shelf pulse sequencer
for the PC and replace the Z17c completely. You would still have to
write the software to control this sequencer, including translation
of pulse programs, etc. but the hardware end would be easier.

Another alternative, if all you want to do is replace the Aspect 2000,
is to upgrade the CXP to an Aspect 3000 with process controller.
