Configuration Problems

Dear Bruker Users,

Has anyone out there tried to set up a Network File System between
an SGI Indy and an ASPECTstation? If so, have you had any difficulties?

Our group has an Indy and an ASPECTstation, both of which run UXNMR. We
are trying to set up two data areas, /u/data (on the INDY) and /v/data
(on the ASPECT) and export /u/data to the ASPECT and /v/data to the INDY.
The directory is then mounted on the particular machine.

This should then allow us to run UXNMR on either machine and allow users
to access their data without knowing which machine it was actually physically
stored on - all they would need to know is whether their data is under /u/data
or /v/data.

So far we have have limited success. Both machines appear to export the
directories correctly and both directories appear to be mounted
correctly on the sister machine. On both machines we can run a UNIX shell
and obtain a directory listing of these directories and their subdirectories. We
can also 'cat' files. Additionally, UXNMR runs without problem on the
ASPECTstation and can acces both /v/data (on the ASPECT) and /u/data
(on the INDY).

Our problem is that UXNMR on the INDY cannot access those files on the ASPECT
correctly - the problem seems to be with files greater than 8K in size.

Has anybody got any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Julian Keates.
