File transfer UNIX/PC via FTP

Dear Bruker Users:

We frequently do off-line processing of our acquired spectra using
Bruker's WinNMR. However, the file transfer from the Aspect X32 to the
PC using the Getfile utility is not possible (at least with our
version being not the most recent one). The source of the problem has
been our version of ftp.exe, which does not support the TAKE command.

To alleviate the pains of transfering data sets manually, I wrote
a program running under Windows 3.11 which allows, by one click
of the mouse, to transfer complete UXNMR data sets, a specific
experiment number only, or a single file to the PC. If this program
would be of use to other users, please feel free to contact me and I
shall try to send the compressed executable via email for free
(please inform me if your mail system supports extraction of attached
files, uuencoding etc.).

Following more details about the current version of GETUXNMR:
o REQUIRES a TCP/IP manager compliant with the Windows Socket
specifications (e.g., Trumpet WinSock). Most people with a WWW
browser (Mosaic, Netscape, etc.) have this.
o currently data transfer is unidirectional from the UNIX server to
the PC client
o only 1D data sets are automatically supported (2D data sets would
require file by file transfer)
o if 1D data sets are transfered, the files are automatically
renamed to suit the naming conventins of WinNMR

Best regards,
Klaus
