Zip disks on SGI O2: solution

Thanks to all who replied to my previous message. I did a test and found
out that I actually don't need to format a zip disk in order to use it!
However, if you entered the formatting routine, you need the root password,
and then the formatted disk is owned and only writable by root. Then you
need to change permission to /zip. Without formatting, a new disk will
show up as owned by root and writable by all as I only need to set chmod
a+w once.

I guess I have mistakenly made the assumption that a new zip disk
(preformatted for PC or Mac) needs to be formatted for SGI, and so made
things harder for myself and others.

Thanks again.

Jiejun
