graphics file formats

OK, here's the story:
Using Xwinplot I created a diagram for one of my users
consisting of several spectra plus annotation. I then
saved this diagram as an EPS file and took it into
IRIS Showcase for further annotation. So far so good.
Now my user would like to include this diagram in his
Web page so he would like to convert it to a GIF file.
I saved the image as an EPS file and transferred it to
a PC. I thought that I could read it into CorelDraw or
Powerpoint and convert it to other file formats but I
was unsuccessful. It seems that none of my PC-based
programs are able to read EPS files that were created
on an SGI computer. Here are my questions:

1) Has anyone else run into these problems with EPS files
that can't be read on PCs? Is it possible that I could fix
the problem by editing a line or two in the EPS file?

2) Is there a utililty on SGI computers that converts
EPS or Showcase files to other formats?

Thanks.
