the "security measures" probalby overwrote some of the configurations
for the communication with the spectrometer. You should be able to
get everything to work with the security patches, if you execute the script
/u/prog/bin/install.net/insatll.net
As for your edte problem, have you done "cfte" after installing and removing
the patches? Or is there a process on spect hanging which looks like this
root 2537 94 1 08:10:32 ? 0:00 /etc/rrs-server /dev/tty05 9600
clocal
where the tty number is wherever your vt is connected. If there is kill it and
try again.
