We are currently investigating creating software to generate statistics for
our NMR service. Specifically, we need to be able to calculate turnaround
times for samples run by the users in automation. This requires, of course,
determining a "submission" time into the ICON-NMR queue, and a "termination"
time when the spectrum acquisition is completed. The termination time is
easy to grab from the ICON accounting file. However, the submission time
appears to only be available in the
/u/prog/curdir/changer/inmrchanger/setup/holder/data/nmr/Name/Expno
directory. As we only have the 60 sample changer, we frequently have more
than one sample per position number in a day, and thus two entries in the
/u/prog/curdir/changer/inmrchanger/setup/holder/data/nmr directory. Our
programmers don't want to deal with this situation. Has anyone out there
written any programs for keeping track of actual turnaround time? Any tips
would be greatly appreciated. We are currently using ICON 2.0.4 and
XWIN-NMR 2.5 patchlevel 4.
