Lost data

Hi all,

I have two instances of "lost data" that I was wondering if anyone has
encountered. We're running XWinnmr 2.5 patch level 4 on an SGI O2
(ARX-500 instrument). The first case of missing data is one student who
transferred her data to a zip disk and then when she tried to restore
it, the fid was nothing but noise. This isn't a case of getting the
disk too close to the magnet because there is no evidence of garbled
data, other dataset on the disk seem to be ok, and PC-based disk
utilities don't come up with any problems. The data can be read without
any errors and also transformed, but it just gives a flat baseline. I
doubt her data can be recovered, but I'm wondering if this has happened
to anyone.

Case 2: Another student was working up a 2D spectrum and says he was
following all the instructions (which I have to admit is questionable)
and he suddenly had clipped his data from a ~10ppm square to ~.8ppm
square. I played around a bit and I could find anything. I thought
there was a command similar to eda which tells you what was *actually*
acquired. If there is such a command please let me know. Or if you
have any ideas/familliarity with either of these problems. Thanks.

chemists solutions are things that are still all mixed up.
