Fellow BUMMERs,
Our Aspect 3000's 160 meg hard drive has some bad sectors reported by TWINEX,
option 6, re-writes enabled. The bad sectors were entered sequencially in
octal format using ERRMAP=D1. ERRMAP reports a READ ERROR for a sector not
in our bad sector listing. Ran ERRMAP=D1 again, including the sector noted
as a READ ERROR. Still get the same READ ERROR even though the bad sector is
now marked as a dropout. Verified same by DIR:F DROPOUT.*
Has anyone else been in this situation? If so, were you able to solve the
problem and run ERRMAP with no READ ERROR reported?
Thank you and best regards,
Lawrence
