The wood chemistry research group at the Institute of Paper Science and
Technology has a need for a post doctoral research fellow (see position
description below). If you are aware of anyone that may benefit from this
experience could you please let them know.

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE: The wood chemistry group is looking for a
recent chemistry Ph.D. graduate student experienced in oxidative organic
chemistry and NMR spectroscopy. The successful candidate will conduct
fundamental research into the chemical mechanisms involved in oxidation of
natural biopolymers using high temperature alkaline oxygen conditions. These
studies are targeted at utilizing fundamental chemical principles to develop
new bleaching technologies for the pulp and paper industry. The applicant must
be experienced in modern chromatography systems (GC, HPLC, & GPC) and advanced
spectroscopic techniques including UV/VIS, FT-IR, NMR{1D & 2D}. Prior
experience with 13C CP/MAS NMR, carbohydrate chemistry and/or lignin chemistry
would be beneficial but is not necessary. Applicants should send a curriculum
